I have attempted and failed c25k several times. I never get past day 1 and usually don't even make it through the entire day 1. But today I put my foot down. I want to do it. It's something that I keep getting drawn to, it's something I've seen people have great success with and it's something that has sparked a passion in most people who have completed it. So this morning I went to iTunes and downloaded a $2.99 app for c25k. It lets me use my own music, gives me vocal cues on when to switch, has a timer for each walk/run and has the entire plan on the app. I am very impressed with it. Much better than any podcast I've downloaded. So I put together a quick playlist in the app and went to it. I did it in my living room alternating walking/jogging in place and walking/jogging down the hall and back. Not ideal I'm sure but it worked for me. I'm not about to go push a stroller while I attempt to jog. Ha. Not happening. But I finished. And when I finished I felt AWESOME. I was pumped. My legs are a little sore tonight but not much. I can't wait to get on to day 2.
I also went back to SparkPeople. And today I tracked it all. Everything I ate, I tracked. I have finished my day with a total of 1448 calories. I was spot on with fat & carb intake but low on protein so I'll work on getting more protein in. When I first started SP it didn't let you analyze your daily intake but it's a wonderful feature. It let me see percentage wise what meals and what foods were taking up the most amount of my calories. Breakfast and snacks were my 2 biggest percentages. But especially my snacks which totaled 41% of my total intake. Breakfast was 28%. And the biggest pitfall of my day? Those darn poptarts I had for breakfast that leave me starving when I'm done. So tomorrow I plan to work on less snacking, or at least some better options and a better breakfast. I don't even *want* the poptarts in the morning, but they are easy so I eat them instead of something else.

2.14.11
CJ's birthday is in a little over a month. I'm overwhelmed. I have it mostly planned but now comes the not so fun part. Buying all the food, supplies, etc. Ugh. lol If I start now I can spread the expense out over the next few weeks. With every day that we get closer to his 4th birthday we get a day closer to when my deadline is up. My goal was to be 199 by his birthday. I don't know if I'll make it. But it hit me this morning how close it's getting and how far I am away from meeting my goal. I didn't even weigh at all last week. I've been feeling bloated and icky so I decided to just skip the weigh in all together. But going by my last WI, I'm around 23lbs away from my March 21st goal. It's finally warming up though, so I think I'll be putting CJ in the stroller and taking walks in the mornings again. Yea he's old enough to walk but he's just a toddler so I'm not going to force him to walk at minimum 1 mile plus the stroller will give me an extra workout. LOL I'm going to attempt it anyway. He may be completely against riding in the stroller, he may decide he's against going walking with me at all. But I won't know until I try. On the days Chris gets home early enough I'll go walking by myself. I love going on walks. It's so peaceful and it helps clear my head and give me a break.
That reminds me I need to pick up bottled water. lol

30ish pounds in 10 weeks?
Heck yea. Time to get serious. We are less than 3 months away from my son's 4th birthday. More like just over 10 weeks! I have gained a couple more pounds back so I'm sitting at around 228.5 right now. So I have a serious goal and I need to work my butt off, literally to get it done. My goal is 199 by March 21. I KNOW I can do it if I put my mind to it.
So what's the plan? Track Track track. I have my best success when I track my food. Even if I go over a day or two I still have great results when I count my calories and stay around 1500-1800 calories.
I also plan to do the 5 Day Slim Down dvd by Leslie Sansone Mon-Fri with a mix of Just Dance 2 and my other Leslie Sansone DVDs when I have time.
Hopefully I can check-in again in 1 week with a good weight loss to get this thing started off right.

Just Dance 2
My super wonderful hubby got me Just Dance 2 for the Wii for Christmas. Hello!! Let me tell you right now, that game is a serious workout. It's so fun so you don't even realize you're working out but after a few dances you will definitely feel the burn. I can't wait to see how the game affects my weight loss and energy levels.
Speaking of weight loss.. I haven't weighed in in a few weeks. I haven't really been working out or doing anything special. I need to get back on track now that the holidays are over. I don't really feel like I've gained or lost and my clothes don't feel any different so I'm not sure how I've been doing but here's to getting happy, healthy and FABULOUS in the New Year!

The DVDs
OK It's time to get serious. I've pulled out my workout DVDs to get my favorites out and start doing them.
So what DVDs am I going to be doing? First of all, my WATP dvds. I just love Leslie Sansone and her workouts are wonderful. I have WATP Power Mile- a super quick mile workout, WATP 5 Day Slim Down- each day has a different 1 mile workout that is only 14mins long+9min stretch and cool down walk and the WATP Express Walk Strong & Super Challenge- the first is a 30min cardio walk (you're supposed to use the stretchie band that comes with the DVD but its long gone) and the 2nd is an intense 4mile workout that I LOVE, unfortunately it takes about an hour to complete and with a toddler in the house it isn't always feasible to do.
Next up- my Carmen Electra dvds. I have discs 1&2 of the Aerobic Striptease series. Disc 1 has 3 fun dance routines that is really broken down into steps anyone can understand. Disc 2 however is all about the workout! This disc isn't about the dance routine but rather it's an intense total body workout that will kick your butt! It's actually fun to do though b.c Carmen is working with her trainer and sometimes she isn't always perfect either so it helps to not get caught up in trying to be perfect the first time you do the workout.
I have 3 other workout DVDs as well. 30 Day Shred, Biggest Loser Power Sculpt and Dance off the Inches Country Line Dance.
I've had the 30 Day Shred dvd forever and a day. I tried to do it a couple of times but I have even made it through day 1. Everyone I know that has done it has had awesome results though. So maybe one day I'll complete the DVD. lol
Power Sculpt I've done a few times in bits and pieces but for me right now it's not the best workout. It's too intense. And the Country line Dance, well I'm just way to uncoordinated to do it. ROFL.
So for now I'll be alternating the WATPs and the AST (aerobic striptease) along with bonus workouts of playing games on the Wii, playing with Boo and various 5-10min workouts from Sparkpeople and ExceriseTV.

The Cold Hard Truth
It's time for the cold hard truth.
I started on Sept. 22 at 242.4lbs. Over the next 8 weeks I got focused, I got motivated, I got serious. The last time I WI'd was Nov 21. I was down 16.2!!!
The last couple of weeks I have fallen out of routine. I've been dealing with a new sleep schedule, lack of motivation and just plain laziness. I've been cooking crap dinners, snacking too much during the day. The house has been a disaster zone and let's face it. Who wants to work out in a room that is messy?
I have however been able to maintain my weight. I don't know how but I have. So now it's time to get focused again.
I don't just workout to lose weight though. Working out or going on a walk gives me a sense of accomplishment. It makes me feel good and gives me energy.
So I am starting this blog at 226lbs. I WI once a week on Wednesdays and the rest of the week the scale gets put away so I'm not tempted to step on it every time I walk in the bathroom.
I never thought in a million years I would be over 200lbs. Especially 240lbs! This is where the truth comes in. No one outside of my husband knows how much I weigh or what size I wear. And it wasn't until I started this last round of the online BL competition on my mom forum that I finally confessed to him how much I weighed. He doesn't care how much I weight of course, but by telling him where I was starting it helped me to take the next step and to be accountable.
